The Best Ways to Recycle your Soft Plastics
Here at Upcycled Grain Project, we are passionate about reducing waste and creating a sustainable future. So, let’s talk about soft plastics recycling. If you thought that soft, scrunchable plastics such as our wrappers couldn’t be recycled, you’re not alone! The good news is… they can be, which keeps it out of the landfill (woo hoo)!
Through the Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme, you can recycle our wrappers. How does it work? It’s simple… all you need to do is:
- Collect your wrappers from around the house, office, car... or wherever you might have them stashed.
- Turn the wrappers inside out, clean them and allow them to dry overnight.
- Drop your clean and dry wrappers at one of the Soft Plastic Recycling bins located at selected spots around the country. Find your nearest store here.
Often we think about recycling as being too hard, and quite frankly you can’t blame us! The collection criteria for recycling differ between regions, heck they differ between suburbs. But access to these Soft Plastics Recycling Bins makes it that little bit easier.
At Upcycled Grain Project, we don’t just want to reduce food waste by upcycling leftover Brewers’ spent grain, but we want to create a closed-loop economy by recycling soft plastics. Of course, we need your help sustainable superheroes! After purchasing our sustainably delicious snacks we kindly ask you to use your nearest soft plastic bin – let’s make a habit of it… a habit to be proud of!
We know with the current world climate that you may not be able to venture to these recycling bin locations - not to worry! You can collect these plastics and store inside another bag until it is safe to do so. Whilst you're there why not check out what else from around your home can be recycled here. The more we can keep out of landfill, the better!
